♦ Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex
The Mubarak Mandi Palace has various buildings within its premises, with the oldest building dating back to the year 1824. The Sheesh Mahal and the pink hall having Dogra art museum are the main attractions of this place. The museum houses various ancient paintings from different schools of art and various rare Persian manuscripts.





♦ Dogra Art Museum
previously known as the Dogra Art Gallery is a museum of Dogra cultural heritage housed in the Pink Hall of the Mubarak Mandi complex, Jammu, India. The main attractions of the museum are the Pahari miniature paintings from Bhasoli.






♦ Bahu Fort
Situated 5 kms away from the city centre, Bahu Fort stands on a rock face on the left bank of the river Tawi. Perhaps the oldest fort and edifice in the city, it was constructed originally by Raja Bahulochan over 3,000 years ago. Fort is a fortress representing the lavishness of the Dogra kings and the royal family that resided to rule the region Inside, there is a temple dedicated to the Hindu goddess Kali.




♦ Akhnoor Fort
is situated on the right bank of Chenab River (ancient name Asikni). The construction of the fort was started by Mian Tej Singh in 1762 AD and completed by his successor Raja Alum Singh in 1802. Inside the fort there is an ancient cave known as Pracheen Pandav Gufa,’ The Pandavas are said to have spent some time in this cave during the last year of their exile. Akhnoor is believed to be the mythical Virat Nagri mentioned in the Mahabharata.




♦ Amar Mahal
The Amar Mahal Palace Museum was once the residence of Raja Amar Singh. This palace made of red sandstone is a beautiful palace at a great location between the Shivaliks and Tawi River. The palace has magnificent golden throne made of 120 kilograms of gold placed in a hexagonal room and bears the design of golden lions in it. The palace now converted into the museum also has an art gallery.
